CompactClean OptIMO
CompactClean OptIMO system
The CompactClean OptIMO BWMS provides optimized performance in IMO waters combined with strong performance in US territories.
The CompactClean OptIMO system is designed and tested according to the MPN testing methods under IMO. It means that the CompactClean OptIMO BWMS deploys an optimized and energy saving UV reactor to treat the ballast water, based on the same proven and high-quality technology as the DESMI CompactClean BWMS. This is proved by the CAPEX and OPEX savings.
CompactClean OptIMO
CompactClean OptIMO BWMS is designed for vessels operating globally or primarily within IMO-regulated waters.
The system automatically adjusts between IMO and USCG operation modes through dual-mode software, ensuring full compliance regardless of the destination port.
Even though CompactClean OptIMO is optimized for full flow in IMO waters, it can also be used in USCG waters. Furthermore, it maintains reliable performance even under low UV transmission rates — down to 40% in US waters and 35% in IMO mode. This makes CompactClean OptIMO ideal for vessels facing diverse water conditions and regulatory environments around the world.

CompactClean Ballast Water Management System has a great number of special features
✔ Smooth Port Operations
✔
High Efficiency Keeps your OPEX Down
✔ Integrated and Compliant Solution for Ballast Stripping Operations
✔ Fully Automated with Easy Integration into Ship Automation System
✔ Intelligent Control
✔ Long Lifetime of Components Gives you Reliable Treatment and Low OPEX

Smooth port operations
Automatic adjustment of treatment to handle dirty or low-UV water without triggering alarms or halting discharge. This keeps port operations running smoothly and avoids costly delays.
High efficiency and low OPEX
The UV chambers in CompactClean are designed through extensive CFD simulations to achieve maximum treatment efficiency. By utilizing every kilowatt of UV light effectively, it reduces power consumption and operational costs.
Integrated ballast stripping solution
The CompactClean system uses its filter backflush pump as a dedicated stripping pump during de-ballasting, eliminating the need for ejectors. This ensures full IMO and USCG compliance and reduces wear by preventing untreated water from entering the system. One system, one pump – multiple functions.
Fully automated operation
PLC-controlled system integrates easily with ship automation. Simple one-touch operation for ballasting and de-ballasting ensures effortless compliance.
Durable construction
The CompactClean UV units are made of cast Nickel-Alu-Bronze with proven sea-water corrosion resistance. This ensures a long lifetime, minimizing maintenance and downtime.
