DESMI selected by Irving Shipbuilding for River-class Destroyer program

DESMI is pleased to confirm that we have signed a contract with Irving Shipbuilding Inc. in Canada to supply equipment for the River-class Destroyer program.

The River-class Destroyer design is based on the United Kingdom’s Type 26 Global Combat Ship, for which DESMI has been a strategic supplier since the program’s inception. The River-class Destroyer is a future class of up to 15 warships for the Royal Canadian Navy. The first warship delivery is expected in the early 2030s.

Under this contract, DESMI will supply the Whole Ship Pumps Package and Hot Fresh Water Modules for Batch 1, consisting of three ships.

Program Heritage

This contract reflects DESMI’s continued contribution to the Global Combat Ship platform, including earlier supply awards for the Hunter Class Frigate program in Australia. The River-class Destroyer program represents the next step in that progression.
