We are experiencing significant growth and are looking for an ambitious and experienced Regional Manager who can plan, coordinate and lead our sales activities in South East Asia (SEA).
DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is one of the world’s leading developers and suppliers of shipboard Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) applied worldwide to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. We are facing a booming market in the coming years and our CompactClean BWMS is highly requested by customers due to chemical free treatment, simplicity, small footprint, and the strongest set of type approvals in the business. Therefore, we are significantly boosting our global BWMS sales organization.

As Regional Manager you are responsible for managing DESMI Ocean Guard’s regional sales activities in SEA, in close collaboration with the BWMS Sales Director and the local sales representatives. These activities include tactical planning of sales activities and management of regional BWMS sales team. Close collaboration and coordination with regional managers in other regions is expected. Finally, an important role will be to drive and support the in-direct sales activities carried out by our agents and distributors in your region.
In short you are responsible for:
- Tactical planning of sales activities directly to shipowner and yards
- Strategic planning for increased sales and presence
- Management of regional BWMS sales team
- Direct involvement in sales for large projects or to key customers
- Coordination with other DESMI BWMS Regional Managers
- Driving and supporting sales through agents and distributors in your region.
- Reporting on sales activities to management
- Participate in marine events / seminars / exhibitions
You will be part of the DESMI Ocean Guard BWMS Sales team, and you will lead the regional BWMS team in SEA, while based at our SEA HQ in Singapore. In addition you will have close collaboration with DESMI sales personnel in China, Korea, Singapore, Germany, France, Netherlands, UK, and Denmark, to name a few. You will report directly to the DESMI Ocean Guard BWMS Sales Director based in our head office in Denmark. You should expect some travel activity, around 90 days per year.

Regional Manager in the marine segment
You have a proven track record with successful involvement of sales activities in the marine segment – but could also be from other lines of businesses. You are used to dealing with shipowners and shipyards on a high level. Furthermore, you may have experience with tactical management of sales activities, including experience with people management and management of in-direct sales through agents and distributors. Preferably, you have a background with good technical understanding of ships and equipment on-board ships. You have good communication skills and you thrive on the opportunity to take on a leading role in growing the business in your region. You are fluent in written and spoken English.
