DESMI WEIR SKIMMERS

The DESMI line up of self-adjusting weir skimmers has grown over the years and now covers the entire spectrum, from the Desmi Terrapin industrial skimmer to the ultra-high capacity DESMI Tarantula offshore skimmer.

The larger units benefit from integral DESMI vertical screw pumps. These pumps are able to pump highly viscous oils and oil and water mixtures without emulsification at pressures up to 13 bar.

At the heart of all these skimmers is the self-adjusting weir. This simple and effective system allows the operator to control the skimming depth by regulating the pump rate - the faster you pump the deeper the weir will go! Pump slowly and you can skim down to a few millimetres. The weir is not rigidly fixed to the body, which allows it to react to wave movements and varying load conditions ensuring optimal recovery efficiency.

DESMI skimmers have the widest operating range - if the oil floats and flows DESMI skimmers can recover it! At higher viscosities the onboard screw pumps extend the range even further.
